As a teenager, I sold my first photograph to "The Bergen Record," a.k.a. NJMG, now part of the Gannett and USA Today network. Decades later, I came full circle, as one of their staff photographers.

To date, my published photojournalism has earned more than 50 New Jersey Press Association and the NJ Society of Professional Journalists awards.

Over the years, my photographs have been published in many national metropolitan area dailies, weeklies, and monthlies, as well as in museums, galleries, books and other publications,

After graduating with my BFA in Photography at Pratt Institute, with work in juried shows, I earned my chops shooting my own jobs and assisting in some of the best NYC studios, often on national ad campaigns.

My skills are hard-won, as diverse as Assistant Manager in the American Museum of Natural History Photo Studio, Photography Co-editor for Harper's Bazaar 125th Anniversary Portfolio, and a Bridgepoint Productions Associate, among my other staff positions.

I'm available locally in East Stroudsburg, PA, northern NJ, and NYC, or anywhere you need me. Let's talk about how I can up your game.

Wow, how things have changed these past months. Businesses and service providers have to work harder to gain attention from a wider audience. Make a great first impression and connect.

What People are Saying About Me

For 18 years, The Montclair Times was one of our nation's top weekly newspapers. For nine of those 18 years, The Times won the New Jersey Press Association's "Newspaper of Excellence" Award, or "New Jersey's Best Large Weekly Newspaper." Intrinsic to those myriad awards was Staff Photographer Adam Anik. In the decade that Adam served The Times, he became New Jersey's most award-winning photographer for weekly newspapers. Adam skillfully covered breaking news, reliably catching that notable instant. He has the gift, figuratively and literally, of getting to the front of the line or behind the curtain for that coveted image. Newspaper photography is not just capturing news events. Adam possesses the skill to capture radiant still-life images. He's adept at spotlighting cuisine, art and fashion. He's got the artistic and technical skills to hone award-winning photo illustrations. Enriching The Times' pages were Adam's portraits of people. His images show warmth and wit, contemplation and joy. Beyond being an excellent photographer, Adam embodies those characteristics. As the editor of The Montclair Times during those 18 years, I feel fortunate to have hired Adam Anik.

Mark Porter,  Editor Emeritus, The Montclair Times

Adam Anik has a way of capturing the spirit and purpose of any gathering or event in a single photograph, and his portraits are downright eloquent.     As a newspaper editor, I found Adam’s photos to be an embarrassment of riches; I always wanted to use them all.  His work enriches the written word it appears alongside, but it also stands alone as visual art.

Elizabeth Oguss, Managing Editor, MontclairLocal.news

Having worked with Adam for nearly a decade, I've always been impressed by his masterful eye for capturing a scene, or a mood, or an emotion with his camera. Adam's got a big personality, and he's an absolute pro at saying something or cracking a joke to put his subjects at ease.
